Adapt answers wherever you asked — in the web app, a Slack thread, or a text. Result delivery lets you override that: get one answer by email, send every response in a chat to your phone, or point a recurring automation at your inbox. Email and Messages are personal destinations. They only ever go to you, and only after that destination is verified on your account.

Send one result now

Ask for it in the chat you’re already in. Adapt sends the message and keeps answering where it normally would.
The email uses the subject Adapt writes for it and includes a button back to the chat. A text arrives in your Adapt Messages thread with a link to the full answer.
Replying to one of these texts starts a new conversation. It doesn’t continue the chat the result came from yet.

Route a whole chat

Point every future response in a chat at a destination and it stays there until you change it.
  • The message you’re on still answers where it started. Ask Adapt to email or text it too if you want it right away.
  • The preference is yours alone. In a shared chat, teammates keep their own destinations.
  • Origin clears it and goes back to answering wherever each message came from. No notification keeps everything in the web app.
  • Automations you create in that chat afterward inherit the destination.
That last point is the useful one. Set the chat to email, then schedule the work:
The setup reply and every morning’s summary land in your inbox instead of the channel you were standing in.

Point an automation somewhere else

Existing automations have their own delivery setting in the automation header, changeable in plain English from any chat. See Result delivery under Automations.

Set up your destinations

Adapt checks what’s available before sending and tells you when the destination you asked for isn’t ready. If a saved destination stops working later, results fall back to the chat’s original surface rather than disappearing.
