Credits

Adapt uses a credits system to track usage:
  • Free credits at signup: $10 for personal email signups, $25 for business email signups
  • Earn bonus credits: Business domain orgs can earn up to $275 more by connecting integrations (up to $225) and inviting teammates (up to $50)
  • Volume bonus credits: Higher-tier plans include bonus credits beyond the base rate — for example, the $5,000/mo plan grants 10% extra credits
  • Credits are consumed as you use Adapt based on the work required to answer questions and run tasks
Usage pauses when your effective spendable balance reaches zero. Scheduled tasks resume automatically after credits are added.

Your credit usage is driven by the work Adapt performs on your behalf:

Response generation

Credits are used when Adapt reads context, reasons through your request, and generates a response. More complex questions and broader context generally use more credits than short, focused requests.

Execution and automation

Credits are also used when Adapt runs code, processes files, or completes automated work:

Annual Billing

Credits are granted at the start of each billing cycle and refresh with your normal monthly renewal.

Changing Plans

You can upgrade your plan at any time from Settings > Billing.
  • Tier upgrades (same billing interval) take effect immediately. You’re charged the flat price difference between your current and new plan, and the additional credits are granted right away.
  • Monthly to annual switches take effect immediately. For self-serve plans, the full annual price is charged up front and includes a 10% discount over the equivalent monthly cost. Your first month’s credits are granted right away, with the remaining 11 months granted on each monthly anniversary. Enterprise contracts follow the billing terms in your agreement.
  • Annual to monthly interval changes are not currently supported. Contact support if you need to change from annual to monthly billing.
  • Upgrades clear pending downgrades. If you had a downgrade scheduled, upgrading cancels it.
Annual-to-monthly billing changes are not currently supported.

Billing

How Billing Works

  • Plan renewals: Credits refresh on your monthly or annual schedule
  • Payment method: Credit card on file (enterprise contracts can be invoiced)
  • Auto-recharge: Optionally top up your balance when it drops below a threshold
  • Invoices: Available in your billing dashboard for each charge
Auto-recharge requires an active self-serve plan or an active enterprise sales contract.

Credit Notifications

Adapt proactively alerts you about your credit balance:
  • 70% warning: Slack notification when 70% of your plan credits are consumed
  • Low balance banner: In-app banner visible to your team when credits are running low
  • Zero-credit pause: Scheduled tasks are paused automatically when your effective balance reaches zero
  • Recharge notification: Alert when an auto-recharge top-up fires
  • Resume notification: Confirmation when paused tasks resume after credits are added

View Your Usage

Monitor costs in real time:
  1. Go to Settings > Billing > Usage
  2. See current cycle usage and remaining credits
  3. View how usage is tracking over time
  4. Download detailed reports
